Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

Comedy hasn't exactly been king this Spring. Only three comedies were
guaranteed gut-busters: THE REF, THE NAKED GUN, and, now, FOUR WEDDINGS
AND A FUNERAL. Anyone who loves to laugh should sit and smile and watch
these bouncy Brits carry on and cavort through, yes, four weddings and
one funeral. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll love the supporting
players, including Simon Callow and Rowan Atkinson.

Hugh Grant plays Charles, a confirmed young bachelor who bounces from
wedding to wedding, always the guest and never the star. He spies the
captivating Carrie (Andie MacDowell) during his duties as Best Man-- at
the first wedding-- and the rest is history. Well, almost. What it takes
to get these two together is a gas and that's all I'll reveal here.

Go see the movie. Mike Newell directs. (Rated "R"/116 min.)

Grade: A-
