NEW HILL - Mass-casualty training exercise at New Hope Valley Railway yard at 5121 Daisey Street. Simulated passenger train derailment with a couple dozen souls aboard. Participating agencies and organizations included Apex Fire, Fairview Fire, Holly Springs Fire, Morrisville Fire, Wake Fire-Rescue, Apex EMS, Wake EMS, Apex Police, Wake Sheriff, Wake Emergency Management, and Barry's Cafe. The exercise started at 10:00 a.m. and concluded before noon. Command was located at Apex Station #2, up the road at 3045 New Hill Holleman Road. By the numbers, 982 pictures were taken. First cull kept 274, second kept 243, final kept 235, with 33 requiring rotational adjustments. Mike Legeros photographs.
