RALEIGH - Motor-vehicle accident with injuries, including two firefighters struck. Engine 2 had arrived on the scene of a vehicle fire on eastbound I-40, at the entrance ramp from Hammond Road. Passenger vehicle entered the scene and struck at least two other vehicles. Two members of Engine 2 struck, with minor injuries. Both transported to WakeMed. Three other civilians injured, one serious, also transported. Dispatched about 4:10 p.m. Accident occurred about 4:20 p.m. Engine 2 and Engine 20 on initial dispatch. Engine 1, Engine 3, and Engine 10 added. Battalion 3, Car 10, and Car 2 also on scene. Medical resources included EMS 8, EMS 11, EMS 18, EMS 36, and District 1. "B" platoon. Mike Legeros photographs.
