RALEIGH - Aftermath of two-alarm apartment fire 1536 North Raleigh Boulevard. Engine 7 arriving at a two-story,
brick building with 5,292 square-feet. Built 1970. Heavy smoke and fire showing. Engine 3 brought water supply, then boosted pressure. Crews entered
structure for interior attack and rescue of occupants from upstairs bedroom. Fire in first floor kitchen. Battalion 2 assumed command on arrival, and requested second alarm about ten minutes into
incident with smoke showing from roofline. Staging on Raleigh Boulevard, just south of incident and about a block from Fire Station 7. Command and rehab
in front of structure. Two occupants rescued, two children that suffered smoke inhalation and were experiencing
respiratory distress. Both resuscitated on scene. Two adults self-evacuated. All four treated and transported. Cause determined as unattending cooking. Dispatched 4:25 a.m. Controlled 4:55 p.m. Units on scene included: E7, E3, E11, L4, R2, B2 (first alarm fire), E1, A1, C10, C20 (working fire), E13, E6, E12, L2, R1, B1 (second alarm), B3, C40, C2, C3, C5 (other fire),
