Notes: Equipped with twelve-cylinder motor, 1000 GPM, 100-gallon tank, shaft-drive, dual rear tires.

History:

  • Contract for purchase authorized on May 13, 1936.
  • Delivered after July 28, 1936.
  • Placed in service as Engine 1 in 1936.
  • Sold as surplus on December 20, 1976.
  • Bought by private owner in Durham. He restored the truck to operational condition and took neighborhood children for rides. Was been stored outside for at least a decade until 2015, under a protective carp.
  • Donated to Raleigh Fire Museum by the owner's wife in 2015, after he had passed away some years ago. Apparatus was moved to Raleigh and stored at Services.
