They were part of a five-team deployment requested by Texas emergency officials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Personnel and equipment from NC USAR Task Force 8 and Task Force 9 departed from the Raleigh Fire Department training center, following a 10:00 a.m. press conference that included remarks from Governor Roy Cooper and Mayor Nancy Macfarlane.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2683\" src=\"http:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar1.jpg\" alt=\"2017-09-01-usar1\" width=\"600\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar1-300x219.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>Mike Legeros photos<\/p>\n<p>Personnel and equipment from Chapel Hill and Durham fire departments arrived at the training center after 8:00 a.m. Crews prepared the Task Force 8 vehicles, which included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two four-door utility trucks\/water rescue, pulling trailers with boats and rescue equipment<\/li>\n<li>Two pick-ups with camper shells, one pulling a logistics trailer that includes a UTV<\/li>\n<li>Box truck\/communications unit, pulling a generator, lighting, and antenna trailer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Fayetteville team from Task Force 9 arrived around 10:00 a.m., with a similar vehicles and equipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2684\" src=\"http:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar2.jpg\" alt=\"2017-09-01-usar2\" width=\"600\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/legeros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017-09-01-usar2-300x167.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>Mike Legeros photos<\/p>\n<p>News media, local officials, and Mr. Blogger also gathered at the training center that morning. Or watch this short clip:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G6L2FZY-jlk\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Five Teams From Across The State<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The five teams consist of 92 personnel from the following agencies, each part of a larger North Carolina Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Task Force 9 &#8211;\u00a0Fayetteville FD, Fayetteville PD, Cumberland County EMS and Lumberton Rescue &amp; EMS<\/li>\n<li>Task Force 8 &#8211;\u00a0Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill fire departments<\/li>\n<li>Task Force 6 &#8211; Greensboro FD<\/li>\n<li>Task Force 3 &#8211; Charlotte FD<\/li>\n<li>Task Force 2 &#8211;\u00a0Henderson County Emergency Services, Blue Ridge\u00a0FD, Etowah Horse Shoe FD, Fletcher FD, Henderson County Rescue Squad, Saluda FD,\u00a0Valley Hill\u00a0FD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Greensboro, Charlotte, and Henderson County teams departed from the Charlotte Fire and Police Training Academy, also on Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The five teams are part of the state&#8217;s swift-water rescue program, which is organized by North Carolina Emergency Management. There are 30 teams positioned across the state.
