It will replace a 1977 engine house that is located on the same site, at the corner of West Raleigh Boulevard and South Grace Street.<\/p>\n<p>The new station will cost $11M+ and face West Raleigh Boulevard, not Grace Street. Program specifications include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eight Bedrooms with built-in desk<\/li>\n<li>Storage Room<\/li>\n<li>Common Area Restroom (entrance from engine room) with separate shower for decon<\/li>\n<li>Community Bathrooms w\/Showers (1 dedicated to female employees)<\/li>\n<li>Kitchen \/ Dayroom<\/li>\n<li>Gym \/ Workshop<\/li>\n<li>Community Room \/ Classroom<\/li>\n<li>Gear Wash and Decontamination Room for Dryer &amp; Extractor with exterior entrance<\/li>\n<li>Gear Storage Room<\/li>\n<li>Laundry<\/li>\n<li>A method (pole, slide, or steps) to quickly access the engine room from the upstairs mezzanine<\/li>\n<li>Pantry with cabinets for 3 shifts and room to store 3 shift refrigerators<\/li>\n<li>Three engine bays total, including two full drive through, double-stacked bays, and one half bay parallel to the Grace Street side with the front facing West Raleigh Blvd. The half-bay will have the gym and workshop located directly behind it.<\/li>\n<li>Captain \/ STO Office.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more-->[1] The property record card on the county web site is wrong and appears to be listing the details of the original Station 2. Grace Street. It was deactivated on [goes here]. It&#8217;s located on a 1.15-acre lot, which is being expanded with added parcels. The one-story structure had [goes here] square-feet.[1]<\/p>\n<p>This iteration of Station 2 opened in the spring of 1977. Exact date TBD. It cost $225,000 and replaced Rocky Mount&#8217;s first Station 2 on South Church Street.
