Dear God (1996)

DEAR GOD, do I have the strength to write this review? The movie
is so bad that I question my ability to articulate its awfulness.
Do I have the language to describe how director Garry Marshall
(PRETTY WOMAN) tries to take the film in ten different directions
at once? Or how he turns the tone on a dime, from serious to silly
to satire to slapstick? Do I praise Greg Kinnear (SABRINA), who
has such screen charisma as the con man turned Good Samaritan that
he's sure to work in this town again. Do I talk about Tim Conway,
whose burned-out letter carrier is the postal comedy's sole saving
grace? DEAR GOD, it's almost unwatchable. (Rated "PG"/~100 min.)
