MOTHER is funny, very funny, but not hilarious, as other critics might have you believe. Debbie Reynolds is just wonderful and Albert Brooks is his usual amusing self. The script gets a bit tidy toward the end, though. I guess that's part of the charm. And who doesn't want to run out and buy a video phone? Sign me up! (Rated "PG-13"/105 min.)
