THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT is less than enthralling. Both Edward Norton (PRIMAL FEAR) and Courtney Love are very good, but Woody Harrelson is harder to take after his mood (and accent) shifts in mid-film. Nor are some of the major plot points entirely explain- ed. (Flynt finding religion? What's that about?) Still, how often can you wander down to your friendly neighbor multiplex and catch a bio of a self-proclaimed scum bag, hear ruminations on First Amendment rights, *and* get a peek, however mild, into the industry of porn? Directed by Milos Foreman (AMADEUS). (Rated "R"/130 min.) Grade: B- Copyright 1997 by Michael J. Legeros
