FOR RICHER OR POORER is a lame comic take on WITNESS, with Tim Al- len and Kirstie Alley as rich folk who head for the hills when the IRS comes a-callin'. The wealthy New Yorkers are also at odds in their marriage, which can only mean three things: (a.) upon arrival in Amish land, they'll be bickering about wanting a divorce (b.) after a day or two of hard work, they'll start acting nice to each other, and (c.) by the final reel, they'll have reconciled, but not before fingering their accountant (Wayne Knight, who else?) as the real cheater-cheater pumpkin eater. Did it happen? Well, I can't advise. I left after an hour, bored, but not before having one good laugh, at Allen, standing on Wall Street behind the statue of a bull and uttering a certain eight-letter expletive. Now *that's* funny.
