THE FULL MONTY, about a sextet of average-Joe ex-steelworkers who take to stripping as a way to make, ah, ends meet, brought down the house at the Rialto on Friday night. I was less amused, but will defer to the hundreds of others who laughed longer, harder, and heartier than yours truly. (If everyone laughs, then a movie must be funny, no?) Beyond the many gags about underwear and what it covers, there are a couple of amusing dress (undress?) rehearsals, some synchronized silliness set to Donna Summer, and, of course, the expectedly riotous finale, where the boys make their final de- cision on whether or not to show "the full monty." And, as with other imported working-class comedies, such as the far less-agree- able BRASSED OFF!, we learn loads about the characters, their lives, and their feelings. Hmmmm. Guys that open up and then get naked. Sounds like the ideal chick flick to me. (Rated "R"/95 min.) Grade: B Copyright 1997 Michael J. Legeros Movie Hell is a trademark of Michael J. Legeros
