GABBEH is a minor treat. The story of an Iranian nomad (Shaghayegh Djodat) and how she waited to marry her husband is told through an ingenious framing device, a sort of "interactive flashback," where the young woman's tale is told to an older version of herself and her older self's husband. The naturally-lit colors are truly magnificent and one of the best reasons to recommend this movie, despite a shrill soundtrack and a running time that, while exceed- ingly short, still feels stretched. Written and directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf. (Not rated/75 min.) Grade: B Copyright 1997 Michael J. Legeros Movie Hell is a trademark of Michael J. Legeros
