The Relic (1997)

THE RELIC is a wreck. Though the premise has promise-- Something
Scary is stalking the lower levels of Chicago's Field Museum of
Natural Science-- director Peter Hyams (SUDDEN DEATH, TIMECOP)
doesn't have a clue what to do at feeding time. When the Stan
Winston-created creature begins banqueting on a roomful of high-
society types, Hyams splits the story in a half-dozen different
directions. Trying to keep track of who's where is no fun, and it
kills suspense, and it turns the movie into another quintessential
long sit. (Rated "R"/110 min.)
