Celebrity (1998)

CELEBRITY is another star-studded romantic comedy from Woody Al-
len, who has wrongfully cast Kenneth Branagh in his place.  Doing 
a dead-on impersonation of Allen, the Shakespearean actor ends up 
utterly distracting in his every single scene.  Thank God the rest 
of the movie is a blast.  The busy black-and-white film also finds 
Allen getting increasingly raunchy.  Judy Davis' demonstration of 
her tortured technique at, ah, Making a Monica is easily one of 
the year's most shockingly funny scenes...  With Joe Mantegna, Win-
ona Ryder, Charlize Theron, Leonardo DiCaprio, Melanie Griffith,
Famke Janssen, Bebe Neuwirth.  (Rated "R"/113 min.)
