John Water's PECKER has a few inches on it. Though a long sit by any... stretch, the writer/director's latest kitsch-fit has its fair share of amusingly eccentric moments. An all-growed-up Ed- ward Furlong (TERMINATOR 2) plays the title character-- an amateur Baltimore photographer named as such because... he used to peck at his food. (And his name is repeated over and over and over again. Heh.) The story follows the cultural collision that ensues when his working class photos become a hit with the New York City art crowd. (Lily Taylor-- again in a dress!-- is the dealer who comes a-callin'.) After an hour it gets old, but, really, where *else* are you gonna learn about such fringe topics as "tea-bagging?" Or be shown pubic-hair close-ups of lesbian strippers? With Chris- tina Ricci, Bess Armstrong, Mark Joy, Mary Kay Place, Martha Plimpton, Brendan Sexton III, and renowned kidnapee Patricia Hearst.
