OFFICE SPACE is oft-hilarious. "Beavis and Butt-head" and "King of the Hill" creator Mike Judge makes his live-action feature-film de- but with this Dilbert-esque cubicle comedy about downsizing at a software firm. The plotting is erratic as hell, the momentum leaks like a punctured tire, but, oh man, are certain scenes side-split- ters. Best of the bunch involve a dissatisfied developer (Ron Liv- ingstone) whose abrupt attitude change-- from "this sucks" to "what- ever"-- leads to spectacularly funny results. You'll wish *you* could say those things to your boss. With Jennifer Aniston, David Herman, Ajay Naidu, John C. McGinley, and a terrifically tedious Gary Cole. Jaunty soundtrack, too, featuring everything from Perez Prado and His Orchestra to a hip-hop reworking of "Take This Job And Shove It." (Rated "R"/90 min.) Grade: B- Copyright 1999 by Michael J.
