What schools, prisons, hospitals, factories, and other institutions in the state have formed fire departments? Based on my ever-expanding former FD database, here are some recent findings. There are probably many others.

IBM at RTP had their on fire apparatus back in the 70s. It was a Ford C series pumper, possibly an ALF.

DSM Pharmaceuticals (started as Bouroughs Wellcome-GSK-Catalytica) in Greenville (Pitt County) has a department that answers all 1st alarms and medical 1st responder during the buisness hours. Off hours local FDs respond with them. Equipment includes a 1980s Pierce/Ford C Engine, HazMat Truck, 1st Responder/Command Truck, Equipment Truck, and Foam Trailer. It use to have a Aircraft crash vehicle that was used for foam untill the foam trailer was aquired.

PCS Phosphates (started as Texas Gulf) in Aurora (Beaufort County) has a very active department that includes fire suppression, boat(s), and an ambulance. Aurora Rescue usually transports but PCS can if needed too.
