03/03/09 67 W, 1 I - + 9 - 13 Beaufort Ladder Truck

Those vintage photos from Carteret County have been expanded and include some color shots of Beaufort fire apparatus from the 1930s and 1940s. Below is a 1941 Dodge ladder truck with a 55-foot aerial ladder. It was built by firefighters using a truck and materials purchased by the town. At one time Swansboro had something like this, only it was on a trailer.

Yes. This truck and the 2 pumpers are owned by a gentleman who lives near Beaufort.
