10/07/06 98 W - + 14 - 14 This Blog vs. That Forum, Part 3

Basically, on this blog, we're trying to get everyone to play nice. Firefighters are their own worst enemy when it comes to speaking before thinking. Add the Internet to that equation and it's a seeming recipe for disaster, or at least at whatever point the forum becomes popular and/or addresses heated issues. Feel free to agree or disagree and comment here accordingly. However, we are determined to preserve civility, and keep ourselves and everyone else out of trouble. We are here to help the helpers. It remains our pleasure and privilege.

Mike-

Thanks for taking the time to maintain an excellent site filled with great information. It really is eye-opening to browse around other ‘firefighter’ forums and see how other departments continuously bash each other. Thank you for not allowing that to occur on this site. It truly is refreshing to come to this site and find firefighters discussing their opinions, not degrading each other in an “attempt” to prove their point(s). Keep up the good work, we appreciate it!
