Engine 1 / Engine 2, a 1953 American LaFrance  700 Series pumper, was removed from service in 1974. It was photographed in 2005 parked behind 2165 Burch Bridge Road in Burlington, N.C. The cab was sitting in the woods and is visible from the road; the rest of the rig as buried under brush in the back of the residential lot.
