1977, organized.  Incorporated as Hopkins Rural Fire Department, Inc. (March 10, 1977) sos

1977, ground broken on fire station at 8933 Fowler Road (June 1977) fds

1977, early apparatus includes: oh

  • 1954 GMC panel truck purchased from Zebulon Rescue, former Raleigh unit
  • 1957 FWD pumper, 750 GPM purchased from Knightdale Tractor and Equipment, former Raleigh unit
  • 1961 Chevy tanker purchased from Garner

1980-1989

1982, apparatus delivery: 1982 Ford / Quality pumper (November 1982) fds

1990-present

early 1990's (?), FWD pumper retired. 

1993, apparatus delivery:  new fire truck (October 1993) fds

1995, office and additional apparatus bay added onto fire station (summer 1995) fds

1996, Tornado strikes Zebulon. Fire department responds as mutual aid (April 15, 1996) fds

1996, Hurricane Fran strikes (September 6, 1996) fds

1997, fire department barbecue held (October 24, 1997) fds
