Notes: Built by firefighters in 1963 and using
ladder rack from 1922 American LaFrance service truck.
History:
- Placed in service as Truck 7 by June 15, 1963.
- Removed from service after accident on May 31, 1979.
Truck 7
collides with an automobile at the intersection of Raleigh Boulevard and
Milburnie Road, while responding to a fire alarm at Holly Hill Hospital. The
apparatus follows Engine 7 through the intersection, and reportedly through
a red light. Their speed is 35 MPH, with lights and siren activated. The
automobile enters the intersection at about 10 MPH. Two of the three
firefighters aboard are transported for observation. One person in the car
