Hose Wagons Beginning in 1888, horse-drawn hose wagons were utilized by the Rescue and later Capital Hose fire companies. Both two- and four-wheel wagons were utilized, with four-wheel wagons remaining in service through the formation of a fully-paid Raleigh Fire Department in 1912.
