Rumsey Hand Engine By June 13, 1875, a side-stroke hand engine was purchased for the Victor Company. The apparatus cost about $1,700, and was purchased from Rumsey and Company in Seneca Falls, New York.. The four-wheeled apparatus was horse-drawn at this time.
