History: Station 15 opened on November 13, 1974 at 1815 Spring
Forest Road. Engine 15, which previously served as the second engine at
Station 1, was placed in service at Station 15 with a 1961 American LaFrance
pumper. The station was dedicated on June 22, 1975, along with Station 12 and
Station 14. It is located adjacent to Millbrook Exchange Park.
On March 16, 1987, Truck 15 was placed in service with a 1964 GMC service
truck. Truck 15 operated as a aerial ladder company from 1989 to 2001. In
1996, the rear of the apparatus bay was expanded to accommodate a 1988
Pierce articulating aerial platform that was unable to enter or exit from
the front of the station.
Station 15 housed a haz-mat unit from 2002 to 2012. It has housed a
Battalion Chief since 2001. The Explorer Post was also based at Station 15
for many years.
